In Your Head

The beginning of another bird painting. Excited about it- but very hesitant- thought to take a picture of it before I boldly paint on it today.

Figure Drawing

Just started figure drawing from a live model again this past week. I'm a bit rusty but very motivated to keep going and improve. The last pose was a challenge- still might be hard to tell that she was laying on the edge of a platform but falling onto the pillow below it. It felt great to draw for a couple of hours, like figure drawing in college. I hung up the drawings in my loft studio. I'm feeling it more and more up there. In my element, listening to tunes escaping in the world of graphite, paint and other random creative material I get my hands on.

Growth

Painting in progress..- inspired by a close up photo of a flower. ( -Poor photo light and quality. I'll take a photo of the painting in the daylight when it's finished. )

Peace and Calm

Art Therapy with Lisa- April 22, 2009. Purpose and goal of art therapy: A connection with your inner feelings. A state of mind where you feel relaxed and comfortable, able to freely release expression. Receiving wisdom from our souls. Imagine images. Set a clear intention. Simple. Quiet the mind by... - your concentration on breathing. -breathing and dreaming in light and color. - Set intention. Let the intention travel and drift to other parts inside you.

My intention: Desire for peace & calm. How does this make me feel? Together.. put together. Intwined, one thing going to the next smoothly emotionally. Why the colors? Contrasting- competing colorful coat of many color eclectic. How does this drawing make you feel? Happy. Bright colors. Full of opportuniity.

Attached is the sketch from the session and the painting that I'm currently working on - inspired from the drawing.

W & B Draw Time

I did this sketch the other day... trying to get out and take the time to draw in breaks during the work day.... weather willing... I painted this one last night... I am working on "not the obvious" skin tone colors. I'm excited how it turned out.
